10 Minute Walk Around Kyoto
July 14th, 2010 · No Comments
Generally I don’t like to post “long” videos here as I have little tolerance for anything over 5 minutes. That said this is one I think everyone who’s been to Kyoto or plans to visit should watch. Having been to all the places featured in this wonderful short film (yes, I will call it that), it immediately takes me back to the incredible week I spent dodging around the town back in Spring 2008.
My long-distance dedication goes out to Adam & Nikko, who followed me to Kyoto after my visit.

Soccer Fans Jump in Dotonbori River
July 1st, 2010 · No Comments
Yes, we’re all sad that Japan was eliminated in the FIFA World Cup 2010 to Paraguay in a ridiculous penalty kick shoot out after 2 hours of amazing play (no, I’m not bitter) but fans in Osaka still pay tribute to their Blue Samurai by jumping in Dotonbori River in Ebisu.
The other admin here tells me that this is quite dangerous and someone died doing this. Apparently the river is rather dirty. Didn’t look too bad last time I hung around the area but what do I know.
